Church in London

I am not going to have any pictures on this post today, but I just wanted to write about Church here. Today was my second week for going to church here in London. It is very different from my ward in Mapleton, and Provo.

First off, it is very very small. Apparently we are supposed to be a branch, but have been made a ward.

The second difference is that we, the Americans and white people, are in the minority. There are so many members from Africa, Jamaica, and other places. These members are some of the strongest that I have ever seen. Last week we met a woman, Diana, from Jamaica. She told us about the missionaries she met there and her love for them and the gospel. She is very poor but comes to church every week. Most of the women in the ward are single moms or single but they believe with their whole hearts the gospel is true.

Today was fast Sunday and we were asked to introduce ourselves and bear our testimonies. When we all got up, we all said the same thing that the gospel was true throughout the whole world and how lucky we are to have the gospel in our lives. We also said what a blessing it has been to feel the spirit of the other members. I have only been here for 2 weeks, but I know the strength that these people have and that encourages me to increase my faith and testimony.

Today I got called to primary with another girl in our program. I play the piano during singing time, and the kids just loved it. They don't get the piano played very often. They also belted the songs that we sung. There weren't very many of them and they were rambunctious when we got to class, but they are sure cute.

I am so grateful for this opportunity that I have to attend church here in London. I know that I am going to grow close to these members and be able to learn from them and their testimonies. It's been a blessing so far and I can't wait to see how I will be able to grow from them.

We are off to Scotland this week, and I am not sure on the wifi situation, so I don't know how often I'll be able to blog, but I will try too.

Cheers!
